Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun is looking for to appoint eligible and desirous young, energetic professionals candidates, who are highly motivated, inspired and dedicated [only Indian Nationals] to join for the position of "Wildlife Biologist/ Conservation Geneticist/ Conservation Ecologist/ GIS Specialist/ Senior Biologist" on contractual basis.

Note:- All aforesaid engagements are on contractual basis initially for a one year period from the date of appointment that can be extended depending on the candidate’s performance and the programme requirements.

1. Wildlife Biologist:- Vacancy: 01. [i] Age: Max. 45 years. [ii] Salary: Rs. 55,000/= pm. [iii] Qualification: Should have possessed Ph.D. degree in Wildlife Science/ Life Science/ Zoology/ Forestry. [iv] Experience: Should have 02 years’ experience in the field of wildlife conservation/ research after Ph.D.

2. Conservation Geneticist:- Vacancy: 01. [i] Age: Max. 40 years. [ii] Salary: Rs. 47,000/= pm. [iii] Qualification: Should have possessed M.Sc. degree Or Ph.D. degree in Bio-technology/ Bio Sciences/ Wildlife Science/ Life Science/ Zoology/ Veterinary Sciences with Specialization in Genetics. [iv] Experience: Should have Master’s Degree and have a minimum of 03 years research experience after Master’s degree or candidates having Ph.D degree should have experience of 1 year in the field of genetics after Ph.D.

3. Conservation Ecologist:- Vacancy: 01. [i] Age: Max. 40 years. [ii] Salary: Rs. 47,000/= pm. [iii] Qualification: Should have possessed Master’s degree or Ph.D. degree in Wildlife Science/ Life Science/ Zoology/ Veterinary Sciences. [iv] Experience: Candidates with Master’s Degree should have a minimum of 03 years research experience after Master’s degree and candidates having Ph.D. degree should have experience of one year in the field of wildlife research after Ph.D.

4. GIS Specialist:- Vacancy: 01. [i] Age: Max. 40 years. [ii] Salary: Rs. 27,500/= pm. [iii] Qualification: Should have possessed Masters’ Degree in Geo information/ Life Science/ Environmental Science/ M.Tech. in Environmental Engineering/ Remote Sensing & GIS. [iv] Experience: Should have a minimum of 1 year experience of working on projects related to GIS and Remote Sensing after Masters’ degree.

5. Senior Biologist:- Vacancy: 01. [i] Age: Max. 40 years. [ii] Salary: Rs. 34,500/= pm. [iii] Qualification: Should have possessed M.Sc. degree in Wildlife Science/ Life Science/ Zoology/ Botany/ Veterinary Science. [iv] Experience: Have a minimum of 1 year experience of working on a research project after M.Sc. degree.

Selection Methodology:- Selection will be done on the basis of educational qualification, experience and performance of the candidate in the Screening Test/ Written Test/ Personal Interview [applicable as per post]. Screening will be based on the details provided by the candidate; hence, it is necessary that applicants should furnish only accurate, full and correct information. The final decision of selection will be at the sole discretion of the management.

Tenure of Engagement:-  The offer of contractual engagement shall be initially for a period of one year which may be extended depending upon the requirement in the Tiger Cell and on the basis of performance of the contractual engagement.

Note:- The job requires wide-ranging traveling to forest interiors, wildlife areas and difficult terrain across India.
